Patie's Cake
1 1/2 c sugar
3 c flour, sifted before measuring
3/4 c butter
4 eggs
3/4 c cold water
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

This recipe is an old photocopy of someone else's handwritten list of ingredients.
The title is in doubt, but it appears to be either "Patie's" or
"Putie's". There is no description of what to do with the
ingredients. The usual procedure would mean to do something
like this:
Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, one at a time.
Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl. Add water
and dry mixture in alternating portions. Bake at about 350°
until done.
