Cherry Pie
2 c cherries (tart - drained)
1 c cherry juice
1 c sugar
1/4 tsp salt
3 tbs flour
1/8 tsp almond extract
1 tbs oleo
Mix sugar, salt, flour. Add juice. Mix in cherries. Let stand while
making 2-crust pastry.
Pastry
2 c sifted flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbs sugar
2/3 c shortening
1/3 c milk
1 tbs oleo
Mix dry stuff - add milk 1 tbs at a time. Roll 1/2 - fill pan.
Brush with oleo. Roll top pastry. Bake at 450° for 5 minutes,
then 375° for 35 minutes.
